The Babyzen Yoyo stroller is a great option if you're on a budget and do not need a stroller which can also be used as car seat carriers. It features a flip-flop-friendly one-step footbrake.

It's easy to push, and it is solid when navigating kerbs and woodland paths. Plus, it's a dream to fold.

1. Babyzen YOYO2

The Babyzen YOYO2 has built a reputation as the most lightweight buggy for city dwellers and jet-setters alike, due to its super nimble manoeuvrability and fold that fits in the overhead luggage of an aeroplane. The most recent version features independent suspension on all four wheels made from Hytrel elastomer to 'perfectly navigate across all types of surfaces and terrain'.

The bent fabric bassinet, the base YOYO2 and 6months of colour pack come together to create a chic pushchair that has a soft elegant design. The base frame alone weighs just over a kilogram and is so light that you can easily lift it out of the box (and do so one-handed).

It's also easy to attach or remove attachments or adaptors such as the hood, for example, snaps onto the YOYO2 with reassuring clicks - as well as being machine washable at 30 degrees to remove staining from rice cakes smushed and half-dissolved carrot puffs. It can be used as a pram right from birth with the Newborn Pack or bassinet, or converted to a stroller from 6 months by clicking on the YOYO Connect additional chassis.

2. Evenflo Pivot Xplore

The Evenflo Pivot Xplore is a great choice for parents looking for a stroller that can be used in a variety of ways. It can be converted from a stroller into a wagon by simply flipping the handle, meaning parents can select the mode they prefer for their journey. The wagon can accommodate two or three children ranging from 6 months to 5 years old. It has a huge storage basket that will hold all your needs when you are on the move.

The Xplore also features dual canopies that rotate from front to back, ensuring ample sun coverage for all family members. It has a smaller footprint than some wagons. This might not be suitable for long journeys or naps.

The frame on the Xplore feels sturdy and solid however it doesn't have as much flex as some of the other wagons we tested. It is also more difficult than other wagons to fold, and does not lock tightly once folded. It is easy to move however, and fits through doors that are narrower than 28 inches.

3. Delta Children LX Side-by-Side

This bare-bones double stroller from Delta Children is an excellent choice for parents looking for a budget-friendly secondary travel stroller. It earned an eye-catching score in our Strollers & Multiples test for weight and size folded which means it's lightweight single stroller, small when collapsed and easy to put into a trunk of a car or closet. It also offers an adjustable reclining seat that can be positioned in several positions as well as a parent cup holder. Other features of note include 360-degree shock-absorbing front wheels and two large storage bags that hang from the ceiling.

It did better in our push and turn test than most of the other strollers we tested, but was nonetheless difficult to maneuver on uneven ground or through narrow doors. The sunshades on it were among the smallest of all strollers we test. They only cover the top of the stroller and do not have peekaboo windows. The UPPAbaby G-Link 2 has a significantly larger canopy.

It took us under 3 minutes to put together the Delta using a standard manual. None of the parts required tools. It's lacking some features that we consider essential for double strollers. They include a large basket, reclining seats, and adjustable leg rests.

4. Maxi-Cosi Zelia 2-in-1

The seat reclines with one hand and the large shopping basket makes it easy for parents to help their child in and out. Despite being a narrow pushchair it handled the everyday bumps well and went through doorways without fuss.

The front wheels can be locked into an forward position or allow them to rotate which helps when covering rough terrain. We let the front wheels to rotate on our walk along an uneven path. It handled this reasonably well, though it did seem slightly rougher.

5. Baby Jogger City Tour 2,

Baby Jogger is a household name for their three-wheeled, all-terrain pushchairs for jogging, but they also make a good assortment of strollers with four wheels. City Tour 2 is their most loved model. It is easy to fold and fits in the boot of a car even with an attached carrycot.

It's a bit heavier than other strollers that we tested however the wheels are made of rubber composite, which makes it feel well-built and sturdy. It is able to maneuver effortlessly across all kinds of terrain, and it's also a breeze to lift, even when loaded with two children and a shopping bag.
